Martha Graham On Genius
Genius dwells in the realm of belief and mystery, and so is not precisely definable. When I work with a person or group about genius, I describe its characteristics, and then encourage each individual to find it in his or her own cultural or spiritual tradition—it goes by many names other than genius. And I enjoy friends enriching my understanding of genius by passing along descriptions of how others have understood the concept.
Friend and entrepreneur David White sent me this quote, a terrific description of genius. It is attributed to Martha Graham.

If you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and be lost. The world will not have it! It is not your business to determine how good it is nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open.
