The Anatomy Of Empathy

I resurrected an article I wrote a few years ago (in my pre-blogging days) that was published in Today’s Coach, the on-line magazine of Coachville. It is titled The Anatomy of Empathy, and you can find it by clicking here.

It will be of particular interest to anyone who coaches.

I enjoyed this article. As a serial entreprenuer, I am always on the lookout for talented people. As you know it is hard to find. I love to hire ex-high school coaches. I have not yet found a bad employee who used to be a coach.
thanks and keep up the great work.

Interesting GL. If you want to say more about why ex-high school coaches make good employees, I’d love to hear about it.

    hello Dick,

I enjoyed this article– it stimulated many thoughts.

Do you know the work of Dr. Marshall Rosenberg, author of “Nonviolent Communication”? (See The Center for Nonviolent Communication, www.cnvc.org) This is the most powerful, accessible, life-affirming work I know for making empathic connection. I’m a designer & facilitator; the NVC process has been invaluable to me- to receive others differently.

Looking forward to reading more of your work!

Thanks Kathleen. I will have a look at CNVC. It interests me that empathy is viewed as a foundation for nonviolent communication.
