Great Question #8

Question MarkMy recent expedition to answer, “When will I know my purpose?”, led me to write a summary article, The Path To Purpose. That article ends in a more-to-the-point question than the one with which I began:

-
Am I the kind of person to whom purpose calls?
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
Questions one through seven:
◊ Is my genius on purpose? (more…)
◊ What kind of me is my work creating? (more…)
◊ For what has my life been preparing me? (more…)
◊ Am I making good use of my life? (more…)
◊ Who needs my gift now? (more…)
◊ Do I value my contribution to the human condition? (more…)
◊ Who supports my genius and purpose, and who must be left behind? (more…)

    Hi Dick,
    Thought provoking post. Thanks.

Now for my 2 cents, I think from time to time in life we take a “pause”
and find ourselves in a cross road. That when you think of purpose.
Otherwise one just rushs through every day life, not really thinking about
such in depth things. Some people “pause” when they are depressed or
something sad is happening in thier lives. While a smart few, take periods of “pause” time
to re-evaluate their purpose. Do that make any sense?

Sham - you get only agreement from me for your “two cents.” A friend says he needs the kind of pause you speak of. He just left a job that he has been in for 18 years with no idea about what he will do next. He is highly marketable, so has no worry about finding new work even though he knows that it will quite probably be very different from what he has been doing. He wants work more in line with a sense of purpose that he is not yet clear about and doesn’t believe that he can find it unless he takes “pause time.”
